Snowflakes falling.
Monday February 9th, 2009. 10:45 AM.[Videos, Winter].
A short clip of home made video of 30 secs where you can see snowing two days ago in a little town not far from Tampere. Sorry about the quality, I made it with a crappy cammera, mine is broken
I miss it a lot.
Northern Lights & Sky in motion (Time-lapse)
Tuesday February 3rd, 2009. 04:53 AM.[Photos, Winter].
A National Geographic video.
The Northern Lights are one of nature’s most spectacular visual phenomena, and in this time lapse video they provide a breathtaking display of light, shape, and color over the course of a single night in Norway.
Vía: Big In Finland.
I have experienced this phenomena in the Finnish Lapland, and it’s amazing. Here is one photo. To take photographs you will need that your cammera allows long exposure and a tripod.
Other “must see” time-lapse video of the sky is this one made by Till Credner.

Sunday February 1st, 2009. 01:50 PM.[Photos, Winter].
These two photos are from Pyhäjärvi, one of the two lakes in Tampere area. Winter-January’09 Vs Spring-May’07. I invite you to see prettier pictures of this lake in flickr.
In the Documentary of Finland (Spanish) that some weeks ago reviewed, has this defect: only you can see the winter, one of the several faces of Finland.
2 CommentsSome changes.
Saturday January 31st, 2009. 08:53 AM.[About the blog].
I’ve made many changes in the blog.
I’ve updated the logo, the favicon , my CV, and made some translations (the categories now are both in English or Spanish, depending on the language selected).
Also you can see in the sidebar the last images of my tumblr, a micro-blog where I want to capture interesting/funny/amazing images that I found in Internet. It’s really easy using the bookmarklet.
Next week I will give a try to twitter.
What else? Now it’s easier to change the language to Spanish/English with the flags floating in the corner of the web.

And last, but not least, now you can subscribe both in English or Spanish to the blog, via a Feed Reader or email.
I am starting to like the look of the blog, but still I have to change things, like the comments section.
Any feedback is appreciated!

What is traveling? Changing your place? By no means! Traveling is changing your opinions and your prejudices.

No CommentsJob Fair Tip - How to present yourself
Wednesday January 28th, 2009. 04:42 AM.[Job, Videos].
Tomorrow, 29th of January I will go to Contact Forum 2009, a recruitment fair. Is one of the most acknowledged career fairs in Finland, targeted for university students.

Also I am thinking to go tomorrow to a lecture in Tampere University:
Listen to the experiences of international graduates and students
Career Evening
Thursday 29.1. at 17.00 – 20.00,
UTA main building, auditorium D10a, Kalevantie 4
And next week, 5th of February to Tampereen Yrityspäivät in Tampere.
I like this kind of events, because you can meet directly to employers and to know more about the companies and their job offers. And also sell yourself better and give a better impression than by email or telephone.
Just now I’m preparing my CVs and getting more information of the companies. One of the collaborators of Contact Forum is Universum, a company that offer services and products that help employers attract talents. They have several web sites for job seekers, all of them with great web design, and one of them is CareerTV. It’s a pity that is focused on USA companies, but anyway, I show you one video clip I found useful for present yourself in a Job Fair.
No CommentsLooking for job in Finland
Sunday January 25th, 2009. 04:19 AM.[Finland culture, Job].
I am currently looking for job actively in Finland, (Tampere and Helsinki), as you know. Here is my CV.
After one month looking job offers you start to become a specialist of finding jobs, and soon I will make a guide for Finding a job, as Phil did some years ago. It’s common sense that I will not published it until it is proved that is succesful.
But the funny Dilbert strip of today, made me remember one useful resource to find a good job. To look the companies listed by the “Great Places To Work” Institute. Specially as a foreigner, if you don’t know so well Finnish companies.

Invitation for Spotify
Monday January 12th, 2009. 09:33 AM.[Music].
I have one invitation for Spotify, a beta program for listening music online (for Windows and Mac). Simply search the song that you want and play it (but doesn’t let to download it). Also it offers you the possibility of play similar songs and artists, so it’s a way to discover new bands.
- Really good quality sound,
- easy mac-style-user interface,
- radio that you can customize.
- Legal and free.
Bad things:
- Not for Linux
- Mainly mainstream music,
The first one to comment, will recieve the invitation (put a valid email).

Saturday January 10th, 2009. 10:15 AM.[Uncategorized].
I found out today this online service TiltShiftMaker that allow you to apply to your photos the Tilt-Shift effect. It’s awesome how it changes the pictures only manipulating the focus of the photographies. Give a try!, here is the result of one of my photos. You can see more examples here (good selection) and this flickr group.
