Spot Matthew Williamson H&M

Sunday May 24th, 2009. 04:49 AM.[Videos].

Every 15 minutes you can see this spot of H&M in TV. It’s starting to get boring, but the song still is catchy and I like the surrealistic photography of the spot.

The director of the spot is Johan Renck, (Swedish, as the H&M company). And has insteresting work history with H&M before, other famous brands and made music videos. The H&M spot can be downloaded here (Quicktime, 30 Mb)

It seems the ad is broadcasted in all Europe and also in Spain the song is getting popular, so the authors Malcolm Pardon y Fredrik Rinman have released the song as a single “We need a change” under the artistic name “stereo lies”. It’s in youtube, iTunes and you can download it.

A couple of interest projects

Sunday May 10th, 2009. 07:07 AM.[People].

A couple of Spanish friends are in creative projects that I would like to comment:

Eduardo Alonso, journalist living in Finland is reviewing Finnish music in Glue.fi, where you can see new Finnish bands, interviews, album reviews, etc (in English). Also he is co-founder of Free! Magazine, a discontinued magazine started in 2007.

José Martínez (Bouman Studios) from Barcelona (Spain), a profesional animator, is making a “marathon” to animate during this weekend 8-9-10th of May a short called Hitler in Love, based on true story. Catchy title isn’t it? I can’t wait to see the result, in the meanwhile you can see him in action drawing through his webcam online or making of.

World’s cleanest countries

Tuesday April 21st, 2009. 12:55 PM.[Finland culture, Spain].

Forbes has published a list of the world’s cleanest countries, with Switzerland in first place:

1. Switzerland.
2. Norway
3. Sweden.
4. Finland.
5. Costa Rica.
30. Spain.
39. USA.

This study has been made by Yale University and you can see the complete list here and the methodology used.
The report ranks 149 countries on 25 indicators tracked across six established policy categories: Environmental Health, Air Pollution, Water Resources, Biodiversity and Habitat, Productive Natural Resources, and Climate Change.
Although Forbes published this week, it seems the study was made in 2008.

Spanish crisis in Finnish TV

Saturday April 4th, 2009. 08:04 AM.[About the blog, Job, Music, Opinion, Spain].

A Finnish TV channel has created a short documentary about Spanish crisis. After the crazy growth of the construction last years and speculation, the happy days are finished. The bubble has burst. Nowadays Spain has the highest unemployment rate in all Europe and many families with economic difficulties.

You can see a piece of this documentary here (Finnish & Spanish language with Finnish subtitles)..
